Galileo the buffoon

It is fitting, in a way, that atheists revere Galileo as a “champion of science” against the “backward and anti-science” religious community of his day, suffering “persecution” for daring to “speak the truth” against…oh, drat.  I’ve run out of quotation marks.

While we’re waiting for a new shipment, allow me to direct you to this excellent article, which explains why Galileo was a pompous jackass who knew less about science than his supposed persecuters.  He thought that gravity was a theory based on belief in the occult, for crying out loud.
