I’m tweeting here: http://twitter.com/#

7:39 p.m. CST:  Interesting…Santorum is ahead so far, 26% to Paul’s 23%, Romney @18% and Gingrich @17%

7:53 p.m. CST: Paul and Santorum tied at 24%

8:06 p.m. CST: It’s back-and-forth; Paul @ 24%, Romney and Santorum each @23%

10:50 p.m. CST:  It looks like a tie between Romney and Santorum, at 25% each, with Paul coming in at 21%.  The delegates are awarded proportionally, as I understand it, so Dr. Paul will get a few delegates from this.  Looking back at 2008, John McCain, the eventual nominee, came in third in Iowa with 13% of the vote in the Iowa Caucuses, so coming in third is not a death knell.  Besides that, the whole “Racist Newsletter” thing has been played out, so it’s going to be hard to use that to pummel the good Doctor going forward.  The only reason that will be used by the anti-Paul coalition is because the whole “Ron Paul is a looney-leftist on foreign policy” argument turned out to be an epic fail.  The “Racist Newsletters” is all they have left.

Considering that Ron Paul only won a little less than 10% of the vote in Iowa in 2008, and considering the beating he’s been taking from supposed conservatives, this result borders on awesome.
